The Reef Course

The 18-hole Reef Course became part of Grand Bahama Island’s landscape in December 2000. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. in a contemporary links style, a strong short game goes a long way on this breathtaking course.

The wide fairways may be a little forgiving but the huge bunkers that protect the greens are not. And the large, level greens may please the eye but their speed will harm your scorecard. Add that with an unpredictable ocean wind and you have yourself a formidable opponent. To top things off Jones brought water into play on 13 of 18 holes. For tee time book your reservations at (242) 373-2003.

The Lucayan Course

The 18-hole Lucayan Course pits your golf skills against Dick Wilson’s mind and the natural wonders of Grand Bahama Island. Testing precision rather than distance, with doglegs, elevated greens and thick stands of tropical foliage, we recommend that you bring plenty of balls.

The tall trees give shade from the sun and other players on the course. There’s no tight schedule and no need to rush your round so you can take it easy. With wide target areas off the tee and well-protected elevated greens, it’s a great place to enjoy a great game. For tee time reservations, call (242) 373-2003.

Fortune Hills Golf & Country Club

The challenging Fortune Hills 9-hole golf course has the longest par 5 in The Bahamas (530 yards) and has a friendly Club House Bar where you will feel right at home after the game. This 36-par, 3,458 yard course is designed by Dick Wilson and Joe Lee and gives golfers welcoming greens, brilliant scenery, and stern challenges, especially on the No. 3 hole. For tee time reservations, call (242) 373-4500.

Grand Bahama Tennis

Take your best swing on Grand Bahama Island

If you’re a tennis enthusiast, you’ll be happy to know that getting court time is never a problem on Grand Bahama Island. Several hotels on the island provide professionally managed courts, with many that are lit for evening playing. Tennis clinics, annual memberships, tennis tournaments, and other exciting events are planned throughout the year. For beginners, most hotels also offer tennis lessons, so you can get the guidance you need and some coaching to help you with your serve.

When it comes to tennis, Grand Bahama Island is unique. No other place in the world offers the tennis enthusiast a chance to experience playing like the pros, on all four different court surfaces in one day: the hard court featuring Decoturf which is the same surface used at the US Open; the Rebound Ace court, which is just like the playing surface in Melbourne; the perfectly manicured English grass court featured in Wimbledon; and the French red brick clay court imported from Paris. Why watch tennis on TV? Experience it for yourself in Grand Bahama.
